Brazilian Portuguese topped the charts as the most requested language of the quarter.
New York, NY July 11, 2012—Acclaro, a New York-based localization and translation agency, released today the language stats for all second quarter localization projects. While Japanese was the most requested language in Q1, a trend that culminated in the expansion of the Acclaro Tokyo office, Brazilian Portuguese topped the charts in Q2. Ten percent of all translations carried out last quarter were for the Brazilian market.

The next five languages in order of demand were:
- French, eight percent of all localization projects
- Japanese, eight percent of all localization projects
- Universal Spanish, five percent of all localization projects
- German, five percent of all localization projects
- Russian, four percent of all localization projects
The client projects involving these six languages in Q2 ranged from website, software and marketing localization to documentation, training and eLearning, multimedia localization, global SEM, localization staffing and localization consulting.
Another shift from Q1 to Q2 was a surge in demand for English-to-Russian translation. Out of the 60+ languages that Acclaro specializes in, Russian has become a mainstay, representing over four percent of all translation projects last quarter.
