The Acclaro Management Team
As Acclaro’s President, Michael is responsible for setting the vision and guiding the growth of Acclaro worldwide.
Michael founded Acclaro in 2002 and quickly grew the organization from a boutique New York firm into a global enterprise with offices and affiliates on four continents. With more than 20 years in the industry, Michael draws on experiences founding and managing localization endeavors — from his first foray into the industry creating a small translation company in Paris to working with leading global entities. A leader in the translation industry, Michael’s insights have been published in Entrepreneur Magazine, iMedia Connection, AllBusiness, Web Content Management, among others.
Michael enjoys frequent travel, and has somehow survived plane food more than 1,000 times. He loves playing soccer, and was even once called the “Cristiano Ronaldo of Irvington” (well, by his mother).
As Vice President of Operations, Rachel manages Acclaro’s global operations team of project managers, technical specialists and linguists. Rachel leads the team in delivering a customer-focused service for Acclaro’s clients. Her poised leadership empowers our team to develop solutions to meet the requirements of high-quality, fast-paced translation projects. An Acclaro employee since 2002, Rachel’s 20 years of industry experience spans roles from translation resource management and project management to operations management and solutions development for complex localization programs. Rachel enjoys collaborating with our customers to understand their challenges and apply her experience to developing customized translation solutions. Rachel lives in the Boston area and graduated with honors from Siena College where she combined her love of history and languages in her studies of American history and French.
Rachel is known for homemade meals inspired by her fresh herb garden and local farmer’s market. Weekends are busy with family activities – and the whole family enjoys annual vacations visiting family in Europe and exploring new destinations. Rachel often indulges her weakness for fresh-cut flowers.
Matt’s expertise in global business communication, translation technology and software localization is put to good use as Acclaro’s Vice President of Client Development. He leads a team of seasoned sales professionals to understand client challenges and provide smart solutions, drawing insight from an extensive background in international communication. Before joining Acclaro, Matt co-founded several industry-leading software and finance companies and led U.S. business development for the Switzerland-based translation firm, CLS Communication. He has sat on the board of the translation industry non-profit Red T, while offering guest lectures at the Baruch College School of Communication.
Matt has a penchant for James Bond films and a hidden talent for reciting lyrics to almost any song (with a special affinity for 90s gangster rap). Living in Boston provides plenty of opportunity for skiing, sailing, hiking and puddle jumping to new countries. His bumper sticker for life? “My other office is a sailboat.”
As Vice President of Finance, Jeffrey leads the Acclaro money team in managing all worldwide accounting and reporting. His attention to detail and big-picture mastery of corporate finance make for accurate company-wide statements and cash management. Jeffrey also overlooks reporting, analysis and budget variance to provide sound financial practices across all Acclaro international offices. He has a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Mount Saint Mary College.
Jeffrey has other interests outside of numbers, too, including DIY home projects, playing basketball without trying to get injured, joining or avoiding the escapades of his three kids, and mowing the lawn with his kids (especially the three year old). His idea of a good adventure includes road tripping cross-country, flying in fighter jets, learning foreign languages and traveling to outer space.

When he’s not working on new initiatives that help build stronger client relationships, he likes to visit the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania with his family. A black belt in Tae Kwon Do, Ira enjoys playing sports, spending time with family and watching Game of Thrones.
As Director of Translation Services, Alessia is in charge of the Acclaro linguistic process including training and resource allocation. Clients are in good hands with her effective leadership and depth of experience across technical, marketing, and business verticals. Thanks to her experience and knowledge, Alessia has built a team that combines a deep understanding of language, its mechanisms and repercussions with the cutting edge expertise that is required in software translation and enterprise resource planning. Alessia holds a degree in translation from the University of Geneva. Prior to joining Acclaro, Alessia worked at Microsoft in Dublin and later at Oracle in Denver. She started out translating technical, scientific, marketing, and literary materials from English to Italian and soon found herself managing a team of 20 linguists. This rich background gives Alessia all the tools to lead a world-class translation team with a personal touch.
Alessia speaks French, Spanish, and Italian, and will soon add Russian to that list (she wants to read Anna Karenina in its native language). Her favorite cities are New York, Tokyo, and Buenos Aires, and she always looks forward to that moment when musicians tune their instruments right before a symphony or ballet.
Annemieke has recently joined Acclaro as the Director of Marketing, with responsibility for the company’s marketing strategy and developing integrated marketing communications programs across channels such as social, content, event, public relations, email, web and more. Prior to joining Acclaro, Annemieke has worked with many businesses and agencies in business to business marketing roles domestically as well as internationally. Her greatest strengths are her creativity, drive, curiosity and resourcefulness. She thrives on challenges, big and small.
Annemieke grew up and studied in the Netherlands and moved to London after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies. She has lived in the US since 1998, and when she is not busy having fun with her family, Annemieke loves to share her passion for fitness by teaching the occasional group fitness class – don’t worry, she is certified – and designing jewelry in her metalsmithing studio.
Lydia Clarke leads Acclaro’s San Francisco office to deliver unmatched localization and translation services with hands-on customer service. A maven of the industry since 2000, Lydia guides clients through strategic decision making for long-term globalization results. She brings years of experience in engineering, project management and program management for a well-rounded approach to the world of localization.
A Cornell graduate, Lydia spent her student years immersed in books about Latin American studies, Spanish and international relations. Her top language is Spanish, and we hear she’s getting good at Portuguese and French. When not running international translation campaigns, Lydia spends time with her loved ones including three young sons. Rare moments of solitude are reserved for cooking, reading and singing (sometimes all at once).
Pauline joined Acclaro in 2012 to help clients achieve their global objectives with customized translation programs. Growing up in France, the Netherlands, Germany and Italy, she came to the U.S. in 2002 to learn English and became an English-to-French translator soon after. Once she discovered the world of localization, she spent 15 years in the industry, ultimately finding Acclaro in pursuit of more operational endeavors.
As Global Program Director, Pauline uses a detail-oriented mindset to improve processes, drive efficiencies and grow relationships. She’s motivated by coming up with manageable solutions to complex problems—a skill that helps shape successful globalization strategies.
Outside of work, you can find Pauline cooking or reading, when she’s not busy with the adventures of raising twin boys. Her favorite city is Rome, and she’s looking forward to seeing what Vietnam, Argentina and Brazil have in store when she crosses them off her bucket list.
