New York-based translation and localization agency Acclaro announces its bronze-level sponsorship and presentation at a leading industry conference this March. The two-day event focuses on bridging the gap between software development and localization, featuring internationalization training, panel discussions, expert presentations, demo derbies and networking opportunities.

New York, NY, February 25, 2013 – Acclaro, a provider of localization and translation services, announced today that it is a participant and bronze sponsor of the 2013 Internationalization and Localization Conference and Training in Santa Clara, California. The event, organized by Lingoport, will be held March 13th and 14th at the TechMart Meeting Center. Full-day internationalization training precedes the conference day that features a two-track theme of expert presentations, panel discussions, and product demo derbies by industry leading companies. Geared toward bridging the gap between software development and localization, the conference focuses on best practices, processes, and technology.

“We look forward to the 2013 Internationalization and Localization Conference. This year we bring insight to the challenge of successful software localization in an agile development environment: a popular method of development that requires our industry to quickly adapt and establish new client solutions,” said Emma Young, west coast operations director at Acclaro.

Young, along with Acclaro program manager Lydia Clarke, will present “Sprinting to the Finish: 7 Tips for Successful Localization with Agile Development” on Wednesday, March 14 from 1:45-2:30pm PST. Bringing over 10 years experience and a specialty in software localization, Young has extensive knowledge about agile development. Clarke has worked on localizing over 50 products for dozens of companies, many of which follow an iterative agile methodology.

In contrast to the traditional waterfall method of software development, agile development has continual releases with self-organized teams and fluid assignments during a sprint. These moving parts require a new set of tools and best practices for businesses to successfully move into new language markets. Conference attendees will learn practical tips for incorporating localization in the fast-moving agile development process, ensuring that new languages do not get lost in the race to the finish line.

Acclaro will host a table for the duration of the conference highlighting creative translation and localization solutions for local clients in Silicon Valley such as Netflix and Palo Alto Networks, as well as for companies across the globe including Sony and Thomson Reuters. An authority in the internationalization industry since 2002, Acclaro brings hands-on experience from three United States offices and five international offices including Tokyo, Japan; Paris, France; and Buenos Aires, Argentina.
