Job Description: Localization Engineer & Test Lead
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Localization Engineer & Test Lead is involved in all aspects of the localization process, including analyzing client source files, defining client testing requirements, setting up products, preparing test scripts, preparing localization kits, performing localization testing, managing the linguistic testing process, bug triaging and building localized applications. The Localization Engineer & Test Lead is responsible for communicating issues to the Project Team and taking the lead on finding solutions.
RESPONSABILITIES:
- 4+ years of experience in localization industry.
- Computer Science degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience with a variety of TM tools, such as SDL Trados, Passolo, Catalyst, WorldServer.
- Extensive technical knowledge of Localization Tools and Localization Standards.
- Knowledge of programming languages syntax such as Java, C++, C#, etc.
- Knowledge of internet related technology (.NET, HTML, XML, PHP, ASP).
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to convey technical information to a cross-functional team.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Define engineering and testing project requirements and prepare localization kits in collaboration with client.
- Analyze and quote projects for existing clients.
- Act as primary technical contact.
- Prepare software and web applications for localization.
- Re-engineer files after translation (GUI resizing, syntax verification ...).
- Manage TMs (entire project).
- Create instructions for translators.
- Set-up build environment, build and debug localized applications.
- Participate in regular status meeting with client.
- Coordinate tasks assigned to internal and external resources.
- Bug triaging and management
- Define Quality Assurance & testing requirements on projects. Work with client on project requirements for testing (platforms, test scripts, bug management).
- Create and execute test scripts.
- Oversee and lead the localization and linguistic testing for software localization projects. Work with testers and linguists to resolve issues during testing.
- Allocate and monitor testing resources (testers and machines), onsite and offsite.
- Provide status to Project Manager on testing progress and issues.
- Lead the screenshot capturing effort on projects.
