The Acclaro Story

Acclaro is the creation of a handful of colleagues who learned their trade with some of the world’s pioneers in the translation and localization industry. Participating during the formative years at companies like International Communications, Harvard Translations, Berlitz, and others, they helped transform those companies from the cottage industry of the early 90’s into professional service organizations using new technology-based solutions and standards for process and quality control.

As the industry matured, they experienced first-hand the successes and challenges of these rapidly growing companies. Investor expectations and a quest for scale drove many of these organizations to pursue a path of mergers into ever larger, public companies. Clients that left the big company experience looking for more personalized service were challenged by the limited experience found in the smaller companies that remained.

The Acclaro team realized it was time to “re-invent” a new, mid-sized service provider; one that not only brought large-scale, complex project experience and cost-cutting technologies to bear on a client’s project, but also provided a higher level of client involvement, flexibility, and transparency into the process. This became the foundation for Acclaro.

Acclaro is a private, self-funded business, growing through successful long-term client relationships.
